City of Dublin Chess Championship 2006
The Leinster Chess Union is pleased to announce the City of Dublin Championships for 2006.

Time and Venue
Over the weekend of 8th – 10th September 2006 in St Michael’s Community Centre, Emmet Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8.(home to the Inchicore Chess Club see their website www.inchicorechessclub.com).

Prizes
Generous Prize Fund subject to entry and any sponsorship obtained. 1st Prize in Masters Section is €700.

Playing Sections & Rate of Play
Masters, rating of 2000 and over,
Majors 1600 – 1999,
Challengers, 1200 – 1599,
Juniors 1199 or under, including unrated players.
Players whose ratings are within 100 points of the threshold for a higher section may, if they wish, compete in the higher section. Entrants without an Irish rating will be allocated to the playing section appropriate to their estimated playing strength at the discretion of the tournament controller.

The rates of play are 1 hour and 45 minutes per player in the Masters, Majors and Challengers Sections, and 1 hour and 30 minutes per player in the Juniors Section.

Entry fees
Masters, Majors & Challengers €45 per player (€35 if payment is received on or before Monday 4th September 2006), €25 for players aged 18 or under on 1st September 2006.
Juniors €30 per player.
(Please note that entries close on Wednesday 6th September 2006).

Cheques should be made payable to the “Leinster Chess Union”.

Players are required to bring their own board, set and clock please. Non ICU members will not be allowed to compete in the tournament. FIDE Rules as per ICU handbook 1990 and ICU Allegro finish rules 1996 apply.
