Phibsboro is one of the longest established clubs in Dublin and the largest club on the Northside, if not the entire city. The club was established in 1954, and further information on the history of the club is available here. We cater for players from beginner up to 2300+. We have had 3 former Irish champions amongst our membership and we always welcome new faces.

Meeting Times and Venue
We meet Mondays from 7:30 onwards, in Clareville Community Centre, Claremont Lawns, Glasnevin, Dublin, D11 F8K1.
Club Championships
The chess club runs the Club Championships in the months following the end of the Leinster Leagues, also a summer competition is held, and on the last club night before Christmas our annual Blitz tournament is held.
The Club is a member of the Leinster Chess Union, members who wish to play in leagues and official competitions are registered and become members of the Irish Chess Union and they will be rated.
