New Premises

At the EGM on Monday it was decided that the Clareville Community Centre, Glasnevin, would be our new venue. Thanks to everyone involved in seeking new premises, we can now concentrate on the new season.

Since it is a residential area we ask all members to be respectful and quiet while leaving the premises.

successful weeks in Artane Community Centre.
The  committee met and reviewed progress to date. It was decided to hold an EGM on Monday 12th August to finalise our club’s location for the 2019/2020 playing season. Members are invited to Clareville on  that night to decide on the season ahead. All members are asked to attend to participate in the decision making process.
In the meantime chess playing in Clareville continues on these nights from 7.30pm until 11pm:

An Oige Closing – New Club Premises?

Sadly An Oige informed us that they are closing the Dublin premises in mid-July. So we have to source alternative premises at quite short notice.

So if anyone has any ideas or suggestions could they let one of the Committee (Bernard, Breandán, Brendan, Mick, Conor, Tom Paddy or Peter)  know and we shall investigate and hopefully we can find a suitable place asap.

Heidenfeld Last Round

What an exciting league it was this year. Well done to our heidenfeld side who was oh so close to being promoted, being one of 4 teams in 2nd place on points, unfortunately on tie-break we finished in 3rd place. Excellent wins for Mohammad, Kevin and Marc, and a draw for Conor. Dave pushed for a win, as we tried to ensure we would win, however it wasn’t to be.  Thanks to everyone who played and especially those who substituted for us when we needed it.

Our Ennis side finished strongly the last few rounds to maintain its league position as well, remarkably all 6 players played ever game this season.

Good Luck to everyone playing in the Club Championships which starts tonight.
