Reopening and 2021-2022 teams

As the government COVID restrictions ease we hope to re-open the club on Monday nights, soon, and we are liaising with the manager of the premises about how best to do this. It is our hope to be in a position to reopen after the October 22nd relaxation of restrictions.

The LCU is looking for clubs to confirm by the end of the month, what teams will be playing in the 2021-2022 season. So contact your club captain and the secretary Brendan to let them know you are available.

Thoughts on the LCU leagues resuming

The LCU is seeking thoughts from clubs, teams, and players about the leagues resuming, either finishing the 2019-2020 season and starting the new 2021 seasons, and the various living with covid challenges. Contact the secretary Brendan or a committee member to share your thought so the club can issue a response.

One year on

So it is little over one year on from the first lockdown and the COVID restrictions and the suspension of our club nights in Clareville community centre on a Monday. Thankfully we have been able to continue in some capacity online with our Chess.com arena games on a Monday night from 7:30-9:30 pm.

Anyone interested in playing should contact Brendan Clare or Tony Mooney.

We shall continue this, we hope when the situation changes to reopen in the autumn.

Stay safe!
