Next Four Weeks in Clareville

Fellow Club Members

Last Monday was our first evening in Clareville Community Centre Glasnevin.
Members had an opportunity to play chess in a different location following four
successful weeks in Artane Community Centre.
The  committee met and reviewed progress to date. It was decided to hold an EGM on Monday 12th August to finalise our club’s location for the 2019/2020 playing season. Members are invited to Clareville on  that night to decide on the season ahead. All members are asked to attend to participate in the decision making process.
In the meantime chess playing in Clareville continues on these nights from 7.30pm until 11pm:
  • Monday     29th July  club night
  • Tuesday    6th August – Fun Blitz night
  • Monday    12th August – EGM
  • Monday     19th August-  club night
Please note the Fun Blitz night is on Tuesday 6th August because the club will be closed on the Bank Holiday Monday. Please email your name to me if you wish to enter the Fun Blitz,
The Committee very much appreciates the support of all members during this period of transition,
Brendan Clare

An Oige Closing – New Club Premises?

Sadly An Oige informed us that they are closing the Dublin premises in mid-July. So we have to source alternative premises at quite short notice.

So if anyone has any ideas or suggestions could they let one of the Committee (Bernard, Breandán, Brendan, Mick, Conor, Tom Paddy or Peter)  know and we shall investigate and hopefully we can find a suitable place asap.

2019 Club Championships

The 2019 Club Championships starts on Monday 20th of May (the day after the final day of the Leinster Leagues). So put your name down on the list on the noticeboard, or contact Mick Germaine or Brendan Clare so you are put in the draw.
