Phibsboro in the thick of a relegation battle which goes to the last round. Excellent win for Colm and draws for Mohamad, Conor and John.
Hard luck for a number of our players
A hard fought draw away to Dun Laoghaire, a good result considering our league position, with two tough matches to come in the last two rounds.
Excellent win for the Heidenfeld against Lucan 5.5 – 2.5 puts them in a good position in the league now, after two good wins.
Hard fought draw for Armstrong Cup side away to Dun Laoghaire 4-4, much needed points in our battle against relegation, with two tough matches remaining.
Excellent win for our BEA Cup side v Rathmines 3-2 with wins for Krystof and David, and draws by Peter and Brendan, keeps the side just above the relegation zone, with 2 matches remaining in the leagues.
Our Armstrong Cup side lost 5-3 to Dublin Chess Club. Wins for David and Conor, and draws for Irek and Dario. Lucasz was unfortunate to lose in a time scramble. Thanks to Tony and Irek who was playing as substitued for us. We are in a real relagation battle, and every point counts, so the next battle is away to Dun Laoghaire in a few weeks on March 9th.
Our Heidenfeld Trophy side won 5.5 to 2.5 away to Celbridge last night. Excellent wins for Marius, Fergal, Bogdan, Tony and Tom, and a draw for Michael, hard luck to Ogantis and Mohamad who lost.
Celbridge are a good side and have be between the Armstrong and Heidenfeld divisions over the past couple of years, and would have out rated us on most boards especially the higher ones.
The league table will look a little better, and we have some crucial games coming up against Rathmines A and Lucan who with us are in a dog fight to stay in the division and our last game is against the league leaders Rathmines B in our last game of the season.
Narrow loss by Heidenfeld team 3.5-4.5 vs ballinsaloe, wins for Kristof, Marius and draws for Art, Fergal and Tom. Tom, Fergal and Micheal were unlucky, and a narrow loss is a great result.
Our next game is a tough away match against Celbridge, who have been in the armstrong in recent years, so every point counts.
A depleted Armstrong Cup team lost 5-3 to Bray last night. Excellent wins for subs Bogdan and Mohammad, draws for Kevin and Conor. Thanks to the subs Bogdan, Mohammad, Tom and Micheal for playing.
On a funny note our two victor on the night and one of our draws came from the guys who were late due to the traffic being so bad, but they made up for the 40+ minutes or so they were down on time and contributed to a great result.
Our Heidenfeld side drew 4-4 with Inchicore A last night, draws for Art and Tony, and wins for Fergal, Mohamad and Marius.
Armstrong cup team won 4.5-3.5 v St. Benildus B – good wins for Dave, and Luca – draws for Kevin, Dario, Conor, Mohamad and Marius.
