Please note the club is running a new competition for non-league players and all members with a grading below 1400.
There will be the usual €5 entry fee. Starting date will be 10th October 2016.
Rate of play will be all moves in 1 hour 45 minutes.

Tough day at the office for both Armstrong Cup and Heidenfeld Trophy teams.
Armstrong lost 6.5 -1.5 to a very strong trinity side, with an excellent win for Kevin, special thanks to the four substitutes who lined out, much appreciated lads.
The Heidenfeld side lost 5.5-2.5 to Drogheda, with a win for Micheal last week.
Still early in the season and onwards and upwards!
New season of the Leinster Leagues starts soon.
New members are also very welcome.

Our Armstrong Cup side won v St. Benildus A, 5-3, ensuring our place in next seasons league. Actually the performance enabled the team to creep up to 8th in the league. Draws for Dario and Dave and wins for Lucasz, Mohamad, John and Conor.
Our Heidenfeld Trophy side had a bad day at the office, two draws for Art and Michael made the result 7-1. The Heidenfeld side league position was secured by results in earlier rounds.
Our BEA Cup side put in another solid performance and preserved league status after a tight relegation battle.

The first round of the above tournament will take place on the
14th April 2016 at 7.30pm.
It will be an all play tournament divided into sections A, B, C etc.
Starting with the highest rated entry and working down to the lowest
rated entry.
Size of sections will depend on entries but players will be within their
own rating group where possible.
The rate of play
The rate of play will be all moves in One hour and thirty minutes.
( 90 minutes.)
The FIDE laws of chess will apply with one exception.
FIDE rule 11.3b regarding the ringing of mobile phones will not be applied for the following reason, this competition is among friends
and club mates and should be played with this in mind, therefore
a player cannot claim the game if his opponents phone rings out
but, the person whose phone rings should not leave the playing
area if it is his move.
Players may arrange with an opponent to play on the Thursday
night provided his opponent is given advance notice.
Entry Fee is €5.
There will be no monetary prize, trophies will be awarded at the A.G.M.
