2006 Phibsboro Chess Club Christmas Lightning Tournament. The 2006 Christmas lightning tournament was held on Monday the 11th of December in the club room in An Oige.  Pictured above Tony Duffy presenting Stan Jurkiewicz with his prize as winner of the 2006 chirstmas lightning competition. Results Strwomir (Stan) Jurkiewicz won the first prize with Stephen Brady in second place and Richard O'Donovan in third place the rest were grading prizes and raffle prizes. The competition was very well attended and conducted in a friendly and good humoured atmosphere which made it very enjoyable for all, especially the coffee and tea and biscuits provided... A special thanks to Mick Germaine for organising the competition and to Tony Duffy, Herbert Scarry and Val Murray for their contributions. Merry Christmas and a happy new year. |
